I'm Wendy Morkel, a licensed therapist based in Utah County. With a MS in Educational Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Utah and extensive experience in trauma, relationships, and behavioral change, I help individuals navigate life's most difficult challenges with honesty and compassion.

My integrative approach draws on ACT, Narrative Therapy, and Interpersonal Process models always grounded in evidence-based practice. I bring warmth and accountability in equal measure, and I believe real growth happens when people feel both safe and gently challenged.

Common questions

Do I need a referral to see you? +
No referral is needed. You can contact me directly to book a free consultation. If you have medical aid, your GP may help with the process, but it's not required for a private appointment.
How long will I need therapy? +
That depends on what you're working through. Some clients find clarity in 8 12 sessions; others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. We'll discuss what feels right for you and check in regularly.
Is what I share completely confidential? +
Yes confidentiality is a cornerstone of our work together. The only exceptions are situations where there's a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, as per ethical and legal obligations.
Do you work with medical aids? +
I am registered with several major medical aids. I recommend checking your benefits directly, as coverage varies by plan. I can provide you with the necessary documentation for claims.
What if I want to stop or take a break? +
You're always in control. There's no obligation to continue. I simply ask for 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session so your slot can be offered to someone else.
